Class expectations
The class is 45 minutes. The first 15- 20 minutes is instructor led whereby we all sit around the mat, sing songs, bring our story to life which is different each week with our sensory story bags which have different props in each week. I have puppets and we explore the story. We then do a short group activity which is different each week. Then for 15 minutes, you and your little Adventurer go and explore all the sensory trays. We always have 1 tray which is messy play which is optional. This 15 minutes is also a great opportunity to have bonding time with your Adventurer as well as meet other parents and make friends. Then for the last 10 minutes of the class, we turn the lights down, we have our sensory lights, bubbles and our hand made personalised parachutes each week. We have this time to help the Adventurers regulate back down due to all the sensory input and learning they have experienced and this helps to transition towards the end of the class. Over the weeks, your little Adventurer will start to know what will come next which is important to babies, toddlers and children’s overall development!
The class leader is a Health Visitor so over the 5 week term, I will be able to weigh your little Adventurer once! There will be a rota in place for you to put your name down! How good is that! You can also ask any health, parenting or child development advice and be rest assured that all the information I provide is the most up to date! I am governed under the NMC and RCN.
